Simple syrup to the rescue again! I make the syrup and then pour them into ice cube trays. Once they’re frozen, I can use a couple not only as ice but for sweetness as well. As the syrup ice cubes melt, they add a sweet taste to each sip I drink.
Making simple syrup is one of the easiest things to do. You don’t need a recipe as you treat it as a ratio. One to one. One cup water to one cup sugar. In addition, you can add flavorings to your syrup to enhance your drinks.

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
- Add water and sugar to a small pot. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil.
- Stir occasionally to make sure all the sugar is dissolved.
- Once everything is incorporated, pour into ice cube trays.
- Cool slightly and then place trays in the freezer.
